Q: What is the Yorkville Video Game Club?
A: The Yorkville Video Game Club is an online space created for students who are in good academic standing to participate in online gaming remotely with their peers.
Q: Where does the VGC meet?
A: All meetings and tournaments are held in room C128 (one of the STEM labs) at the main campus of Yorkville High School. *DUE TO COVID WE WILL BE MEETING REMOTELY VIA DISCORD. EMAIL [email protected] to join!
Q: What games do we play?
A: All games that we currently participate in are approved by the IHSEA.org website. NO "M" rated games are allowed. Some games include: League of Legends, Fortnite, Minecraft, Rocket League, Overwatch, etc...
Q: What platforms are used for gaming?
A: Players can participate on any platform they choose, however, most of the gaming will be done via PC.
Q: Can anyone join?
A: Any current student at YHS with good academic standing can join the club.
Q: Are there any rules for specific games?
A: While we do meet remotely, the behavioral expectations of YHS still remain. Students do not participate in trash-talking, negative attitudes "trolling" is extremely discouraged and will result in a permanent ban from the discord server & participation in the club.
Q: How do I join the E-Sports Team?
A: Currently due to low enrollment numbers, the E-sports team plays only League of Legends, with more interest we will start up an Overwatch or Rocket League team. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN LEAGUE OF LEGENDS PLEASE CONTACT MR. MCKENNA.
